Kevin Barcal

Founder of Breakaway Athletic Development.

During Kevin’s 15-year professional training career, he has worked with hundreds of athletes ranging in age from middle school to college and beyond in sports of all types, including football, soccer, basketball, baseball, hockey, swimming, softball, track, tennis, and more. He enjoys pushing athletes to the limit of their potential, and many of my athletes have gone on to play both in college and professionally.

 

As a Certified Personal Trainer, he also works with people of all ages and abilities who have made the decision to get fit, lose weight, or simply become healthier through a commitment to fitness.

 

Kevin’s love for fitness and sports came from his days running track for both Prospect High School in Mount Prospect, Illinois, and Illinois State University, where he competed as a decathlete and in the 100, 200, and 400 meters, helping the university earn three conference titles during his years there.

 

Many of his athletes have gone on to successful careers at Division I schools and in pro sports.

Ryan Frisbie

Currently is the director of goalkeeping at FCX soccer club and works on the Illinois ODP staff.

He has worked in youth soccer for over 15 years as a full time soccer coach. Ryan also is has his NSCAA Level III goalkeeper license, USYS National Youth Diploma, NSCAA National diploma, And is currently in the USSF C License Developmental Program.

 

Ryan Played College soccer for for Rockford College for 4 years. He played youth soccer with Rockford United and Rockford Raptors, he also played high school soccer for Freeport Senior High School. Ryan has his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical education and Minor in Coaching. Ryan has also achieved his Master in Education, with an emphasis in Special Education.

Chad Newquist

Chad Newquist is the newest trainer at Breakaway Athletic Development. Chad has not only a CPT from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a BS in Health and Wellness but also a strong background in soccer both collegiate and semi-pro. Though he works closely with individual and small group soccer players he uses his experience and expertise throughout all facets of sports.
